Where can you find the strength to gain back pace when life slows you down to a crawling speed? Read the post to find out.

Slow & Steady – Not Always First, But Definitely Finishes with Remarkable Results

‘Slow & steady’ those two words depict my ACC-ICF journey. It was mostly abrupt pauses due to life’s circumstances which slowed me down to almost zero and then me gaining a steady pace again after each pause.

A close personal loss, battling covid, shifting countries during pandemic, helping my son makeup for half a year of missed studies, setting up my business in a new place… I won’t lie, it was tough to keep continuing my ACC journey. It kept taking backseat while I was firefighting in other parts of life.

My other batchmates who had joined ACC training with me were all getting certified and I was just watching them. It seemed the world around me is running and I am crawling. As a student who finished her exams almost always before everyone else and scored really well, I felt I am sinking and going under the ground with ACC.

Finally, I managed to get certified as ACC, even if that took me almost double time than I had expected to finish it

When I looked back at my journey following things stood out for me

1) Emotional support from people around me – While I didn’t have much physical support, there was a lot of emotional support I got from the people around me. My husband, my close friends, my training classmates & even my ACC trainers. They all kept asking me, ‘How I was feeling & if I needed any help?’. And they actually helped me as much as they could.

2) My GRIT – my never call it quits attitude that pushed me from inside. One of my core beliefs is that we as human beings aren’t meant to stop and keep looking back. This attitude kept the desire to move, alive in me.

3) Last but not the least – my strong belief that ‘slow and steady’ may not come first but will definitely finish the race kept me going even when it felt like others are running and I am crawling.

We all have experienced this in one form or another. Remember the last time when you were working towards a goal, but suddenly something happened, and the goal took a backseat. Your pace became painfully slow, and it seemed to be taking forever to reach the goal.
