How can you make your habit changes last?

Habit changes that you plan under state of fear or anxiety will almost always be overturned



The next time, when you feel it’s really necessary for you to make certain spending or saving habit change…


And you impulsively start making promises to yourself:


  • I will not waste any money on shopping

  • I will avoid those regular outings with friends

  • I will avoid going to parties to reduce gift expenses

  • I will invest most of my income fastest growing assets


But you are in a state of fear or anxiety or both… and long-term decisions made in any extreme emotional state are almost always overturned when the said emotion passes, because



Instead, ask yourself the following questions –


  • What am I feeling right now?

  • Is it a negative or a positive emotion?

  • Am I making these promises to just escape the way I am feeling currently?

  • Have I thought about repercussions of these decisions?

  • How am I going to deal with the roadblocks?

  • And last but not the least, do ask yourself – “Am I really ready to make these changes?”


This will help you awaken your thinking brain and make the decisions easy to implement and long lasting.
